Hanover's #3 Jersey Retired
Date: 04.30.08

This is a very special time for Dirtbag Baseball. Tyler Hanover's #3 jersey will never be worn again. The standout secondbaseman, notorious lead-off man and face of the Dirtbags from 2005-2007 had his #3 jersey retired on April 30, 2008.
"I was asked several times by our guys this year if number 3 was available, and all I kept thinking was number 3 belongs to Tyler Hanover. Then I thought to myself, nobody else could ever wear it like Tyler," stated Head Coach Andy Partin.
"It didn't take me long to decide that nobody will ever wear number 3 again in this program."
"He has done so much for our program on and off the field. Thinking back over the past 3 years, he always went way above and beyond what he asked of him."
"Check this out, this is pretty hard to fathom; but Tyler Hanover never made an error of any kind at secondbase in his 3 years with the Dirtbags. And it wasn't like he didn't get to many balls either. He made plays on balls that most amateurs could never get to. He's the best."
"From an offensive standpoint he came at you with so many weapons. When Tyler stepped in the box, as a coach you always felt like he was going to make something happen for the team. He's just the ultimate team guy. He the epitome of a Dirtbag. He's what we are all about. Tyler Hanover is a winner."
Hanover was named Captain for the 2006 and 2007 season. He was the first player ever to be named Captain of a Dirtbag's team.
From 2005 through 2007, Hanover was part of one National Runner-Up and four Final-Four teams at the World Wood Bat Association championships. The 2006 and 2007 Captain also piloted the Dirtbags to three 18U IMPACT World Series Championships.
The standout has signed to play baseball at Louisiana State University.
"We are extremely proud of Tyler and thrilled to present him with this honor. We are really going to miss him moving forward, nobody more than me. It's going to be awkward writing another name in the lead-off spot on the line-up card this summer."
"We know Tyler is headed to a great baseball program at Louisiana State University with a tremendous coaching staff. It won't take Tyler long to become a fan favorite at L.S.U. Tiger fans are going to love him," added Partin.
