Bags Settle For Sweet 16 in Jupiter

The Dirtbags coming off back-to-back Final Four appearances in Jupiter in 2005 and 2006 had to settle for a Sweet 16 finish in 2007 at the premier baseball tournament in the Nation.

"We fell short to a very good team in the Tri-State Arsenal on Sunday night. We had our chances to win the game, but like all weekend we lived on the edge and it finally caught up to us. We did not make a lot of mistakes over the weekend, but it seemed when we did make mistakes they really hurt us," said Head Coach Andy Partin.

"We were well prepared and we played very hard, but we did not get it done in the end. I am very proud of the guys as many of them played through injuries and some through family losses. It's tough to say goodbye to many of those guys who have been with you for so long. I have great memories with so many of the guys on this team. They will be missed."

Head Coach Andy Partin on the Dirtbags:
I am thankful to the guys who worked their butts off this year. We had a great core group of players and leaders. This season we faced some of our greatest challenges yet and we learned a lot from them.

There is a quote I try to live by, "It's not a successful climb unless you enjoy the journey." Through all of the adversity, it was a great journey in 2007. We accomplished great things and helped many along the way.

I am extremely excited about the future of this organization and I am more motivated now than I ever have been before to take the Dirtbags to an even higher level.
