McCay Heads to
Chapel Hill
After serving as a coach with the Dirtbags this summer, Matt McCay
has accepted the volunteer coaching position at the University of North
Carolina.
McCay transferred to the University of North Carolina in 1999 from NC Wesleyan College with Head Coach Mike Fox. He started every game for the Tar Heels in the outfield and also at catcher hitting .318 in 2000.
"We could not be more excited for Matt! His efforts with our program were outstanding and we know he will accomplish great things in Chapel Hill. I think this really says a lot about the coaches and people we have in our program. Our players, coaches and supporters will really miss Matt and we wish him the best of luck at UNC, said Head Coach Andy Partin.
